The Ambler Kiwanis is holding its annual carnival and fireworks show at Wissahickon High School from Tuesday, July 1st, through Saturday, July 5th. The carnival is held daily from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The carnival’s first night was washed out due to the weather. The weather for the rest of the week looks to be clear.
The fireworks show is scheduled for July 2nd (they will go off once it is dark).
Wristbands for the carnival are $30 and are available for Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available for the rides and games on Wednesday and Thursday.
Lower Gwynedd Township is advising the public that there will be increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Houston Road, Dager Road, Knight Road, and other adjacent roads throughout the week. Those traveling through this area are asked to obey the posted signs regarding parking and traffic patterns.
For the July 2nd fireworks show, road restrictions will be in place throughout the township, including:
- 5:00PM Houston Rd between Knight & Dager Rd will be shut down in both directions
- 8:30PM Handicapped Parking at WMS terminated (or as soon as lot fills up)
- 9:00PM Dager Rd traffic terminated both directions (or as soon as lots fill up)
- 9:15PM / 9:30PM Fireworks show scheduled to begin
- 9:40PM SB Bethlehem Pk at Sumneytown/Norristown will be shut down, also SB Bethlehem Pk at Penllyn Pk — NO TRAFFIC SOUTH OF THESE INTERSECTIONS.
Traffic on the following roads will be restricted to only allow residents and their guests, and only off-street parking will be permitted: Buckley, Brights, Brookside, Cedar, Foulke, Hoover, Houston, Knight, Kyle, Marion, Meadowcreek, Montgomery, and Norma.
