Ambler man charged with felony aggravated assault after allegedly attacking Tinder date

James W. Worthington Jr., 35, of Ambler, has been charged with felony aggravated assault after allegedly attacking a woman he met on Tinder on November 5, Bucks County Courier Times reported.

According to Horsham Township police, Worthington attacked the woman at his home in the 1200 block of Limekiln Pike after meeting on the dating app earlier that day. A police report stated that they smoked marijuana together and Worthington started seizing, at which point the victim called 911. When Worthington regained consciousness, he allegedly attempted to gouge out her right eye.

A police officer reportedly observed him sitting over the victim on the couch punching her and immediately placed Worthington in handcuffs, the Times said.

The Times article noted that Worthington was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation for assaulting a Northampton Township man and woman earlier this year.

In 2014, he was sentenced to three to six years in state prison for biting off part of a man’s ear during a fight outside a Newtown Township bar and assaulting his former girlfriend. He was also found to be in possession of anabolic steroids, the Times said.
