Ambler police give update on burglary, robbery, and kidnapping case

The Ambler Police Department has released an update on where an investigation into a burglary, robbery, and kidnapping case from 2023 stands. The case dates back to February 21, 2023 when the department responded to 200 block of South Maple Avenue where a victim reported being robbed and taken at gun point to a location in Philadelphia. The victim eventually escaped.

Police in Ambler worked with the Montgomery County Detective Bureau to investigate and evidence led them to identify Beheejah Alwan (pictured left), Samaj Dawkins (pictured center left), Terrell Watkins (center right), and Deonte Davis (right) as suspects. All four lived in Philadelphia.

Alwan and Dawkins were arrested in March of 2023. On February 28, 2024, Alwan pled guilty to charges of Burglary, Robbery, and Kidnapping. Police believe she is going to receive a “significant amount of time in state prison.” Her sentence will not be determined following a pending pre-sentence investigation. On March 20, 2024, Dawkins pled guilty to conspiracy to Burglary, Robbery, and Kidnapping and was sentenced to three to six years in state prison.

Terrell Watkins, and Deonte Davis are still being sought by police. Anyone who has information about Watkins and Davis are asked to contact Sgt. Erik Iochum and Det. Ian Stanley at the Ambler Borough Police Department by calling (215) 643-6444.
