Ambler Symphony Orchestra To Play At Kimmel Center – Yellow River Cantata

On Saturday, October 3rd at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, the Ambler Symphony Orchestra will perform the Yellow River Cantata, along with a 300 member Choir.

From WRTI:

The Yellow River Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, including some Chinese instruments, was composed in the late 1960’s during China’s Cultural Revolution. It tells the story of the Yellow River, also known as the mother river of China.

But before the concerto, there was a cantata…Today, the eight-movement cantata is well known throughout China, but not often performed in the U.S.

Performing this piece at the Kimmel is an honor and the Ambler Symphony is pretty excited, as this Facebook post can attest: Ambler Symphony will be performing…
