Apartments on the agenda for Ambler’s planning commission

On the June 23rd agenda for Ambler’s planning commission are three items involving development in the borough.

The first is the updating of the 2013 comprehensive plan for Ambler. The commission is seeking input on draft goals, proposed themes, and other items for discussion.

The second is a potential vote on a recommendation to the borough council regarding an ordinance requiring developers to provide open space or a recreation area in future developments or subdivisions. If space wasn’t feasible, the developer could pay a fee that would be applied to park improvements.

The third item is a review and possible motion to vote on making a recommendation to the borough council on phase two of Ambler Crossings. The first phase opened in 2022 with 114-units. The adjacent second phase is 92 units. The developer is seeking preliminary and final land development.

The meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the borough hall.
