Bob’s Discount Furniture celebrated the grand opening of its newest location in Montgomeryville on Friday, May 23, according to a press release.

Located in the Water Tower Square shopping center (751 Horsham Road, Lansdale), the new 20,000 sf store is estimated to add approximately 20 new jobs to the local community. It also has an indoor café with free snacks.

During a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the store presented $5,000 in donations to York Avenue Elementary School and Marvin’s Home, which provides homes to minors or young adults who are homeless or have aged out of the foster system.

Based in Connecticut, Bob’s Discount Furniture is the ninth largest U.S. furniture chain with 195 stores across 24 states and over $2 billion in annual sales. It offers a variety of furniture, mattresses and home accents as well as coffee, ice cream, cookies, and candy as its in-house cafes.

The donations are part of Bob’s Outreach program, which aids schools and housing-related charities. The company also has its own Charitable Foundation. In total, Bob’s and its Foundation donate more than $2.5 million to charities through these programs each year, said the release.
