Deadly shooting at cemetery in the Ambler section of Horsham Township

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Horsham Police Chief Scott Fida announced on March 19th details on an investigation into a shooting that took place a Whitemarsh Memorial Park at 1169 Limekiln Pike in the Ambler section of Horsham Township. The shooting left 29-year-old Daniel Elijah Hawkins of Philadelphia dead and 33-year-old Arian Davis of Philadelphia seriously injured.

According to the announcement, Horsham Police were dispatched at 3:04 p.m. to the cemetery for
a call of shots fired. Police arrived to find Hawkins dead and 33-year-old Arian Davis of
Philadelphia seriously injured. Davis was transported to Abington Hospital and is being
treated for injuries to his jaw, hand, and leg. Detectives processing the scene discovered that
more than 30 shots had been fired.

Montgomery County Detectives and Horsham Police are conducting a joint investigation and thus far found that 30 shots were fired among a large group of people at the cemetery for a “birthday celebration” at the grave of Tyrek Fairel. Fairel was shot and killed in 2013 in Norristown.
