The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Orange Air Quality Action day for ozone for today, Tuesday, June 13th for the 5-county Philadelphia area. This area includes Montgomery County.
On days like this, young children and the elderly (especially those with respiratory problems) are susceptible to the affects of air pollution and should probably limit outdoor activities.
From the PADEP:
To help keep the air healthy, residents and business are encouraged to voluntarily restrict certain pollution-producing activities by:
• Refueling cars and trucks after dusk
• Setting air conditioner thermostats to a higher temperature
• Carpooling or using public transportation; and
• Combining errands to reduce trips.
