Fine Line Dining, the owner of Dettera (Ambler), The Fort (Fort Washington), Jasper’s Backyard (Conshohocken), and the not-yet-opened The Academy (Fort Washington), announced on April 15th that Dettera will close on Saturday, April 18th. Fine Line Dining is led by Michael Sloane and Jay Rosenthal.

This is not unexpected. In 2025, Fine Line acquired the long-running Dettera, with plans to eventually transform it into an approachable Mediterranean restaurant that reflects the diversity of the 20 countries that border the sea.

Currently, Fine Line is preparing to open Academy Grill at 424 South Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington, where Cantina Feliz got its start before moving to downtown Ambler. Academy Grill will feature an Italian-inspired menu of seafood, steaks, and pasta, with a white-tablecloth experience. Chef Jeffery Power and Dettera’s staff are moving over to The Academy.
