On Sunday night, May 15th, a portion of the proceeds from Cantina Feliz in Ft. Washington and  La Calaca Feliz out of the Fairmount section of Philadelphia will be directed to Germantown Academy’s “New Community Project” and its partner, Urbanstead, to help fund their proposals this year.

In its third year, Germantown Academy’s New Community Project, a unique Upper School program that combines design-thinking with an intensive study of literature to help foster meaningful relationships with the city of Philadelphia, has partnered with Urbanstead, a non-profit organization that educates Philadelphia youth in the Francisville neighborhood, one that is without a community supermarket, about the benefits of urban farming.
