Downed powerlines in Montgomery Township are causing significant outages, police say

The Montgomery Township Police Department announced today that several downed powerlines near Airport Square in Montgomery Township are causing significant outages.

“Traffic signals at the intersections of North Wales Road and Knapp Road and North Wales Road and Welsh Road (Route 63) are down and currently operating with one stop sign-controlled lane in each direction,” the department said. “Please avoid the area and use caution if passing through. Residents may also be experiencing outages in their homes.”

Police said the duration of the incident is dependent on PECO’s ability to repair the lines. Additional updates will be provided when available.
