Dr. Laurie Smith, Upper Dublin superintendent, shares holiday message

Dr. Laurie Smith, who was appointed superintendent of the Upper Dublin School District earlier this year, has shared an update and a holiday message with the community.

Her message:

Dear Cardinal Families, Staff, Students, and Community Members,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits as we embark on the holiday season. It is with great enthusiasm that I extend my warmest greetings to each and every one of you. As your new Superintendent, I am both honored and excited to join this remarkable community. Since my appointment in late September, I’ve been learning more about Upper Dublin and I am already deeply impressed by the commitment to excellence that defines the School District.

I come to this role with a firm belief in the transformative power of education and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative learning environment. Together, we have the opportunity to build on the district’s rich history of academic achievement and community involvement. I am dedicated to working closely with our educators, staff, parents/guardians, and community members to ensure that every student receives an outstanding education that prepares them for success.

I have developed an entry plan to serve as a framework for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the current state of our district. It underscores the importance of listening, learning, and nurturing meaningful relationships. The plan will guide my actions and priorities while promoting collaboration and engagement within the district. December will be focused on getting to know various stakeholders through school events, community gatherings, and various district activities. Stay tuned for further information regarding opportunities for us to connect.

I am committed to open communication and encourage you to share your thoughts, ideas, and aspirations for our schools. Together, we can foster an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Thank you for your warm welcome, and I am eager to serve as your Superintendent.

Wishing you a healthy and happy holiday season!

Sincerely,

Laurie Smith, Ed.D.
Superintendent
