Dr. Lensi Nikolov named new principal of Wissahickon Middle School

Wissahickon School District announced the appointment of Dr. Lensi Nikolov as the new principal of Wissahickon Middle School effective July 1, 2025.

Dr. Nikolov will replace Mrs. Beth Bauer. The hire was approved by the school board on May 5.

“I am deeply honored and excited to accept the position of principal at Wissahickon Middle School. I look forward to partnering with the incredible teachers, staff, families, and community to create a supportive and challenging environment where all students are inspired to engage and excel to their fullest potential,” Dr. Nikolov said.

Dr. Nikolov will be leaving Saucon Valley Middle School where she currently serves as principal and senior curriculum specialist. She was previously an elementary principal for the school district.

Prior to that, she worked at Allentown School District and served as Supervisor of Reading, Federal Programs and English Language Development in the Central Bucks School District.

Dr. Nikolov received her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley; her master’s in Second Language Education from McGill University, Montreal; and her Doctor of Education from Lehigh University.

“We are truly excited about the energy, expertise, and compassion that Dr. Nikolov will bring to Wissahickon Middle School. Her appointment reflects careful consideration of our district’s needs and community input. We are also deeply grateful to Mrs. Bauer for her dedicated leadership and 23 years of service to WSD. As we look ahead, I’m confident that Dr. Nikolov will build on that strong foundation and serve as a collaborative, student-centered leader as we continue striving to provide an exemplary education for every student,” said incoming Superintendent Dr. Mwenyewe Dawan.

Opportunities for staff, families and students to meet their new principal will be scheduled and shared as soon as details are available, the district said.
