The Philadelphia Waterdogs lacrosse team will play for the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Championship on Sunday, September 20 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey. The team made it to the finals of the championship after defeating the Boston Cannons 13-10 on Monday, September 7. Sunday’s game will be the Waterdogs’ third PLL championship appearance in five seasons.

The Waterdogs roster features Michael Sowers, a Dresher native who plays the attack position. Sowers attended Upper Dublin High School and Princeton University, where he played lacrosse and became an all-time leading scorer. He later played for Duke before joining the Waterdogs in 2021. Sowers helped the team win its first PLL Championship in 2022 and is a finalist for the PLL MVP award. During the 2026 season, Sowers scored a career-high of 51 points.

The Waterdogs will play the Denver Outlaws at 12:30 p.m. To watch the game, tune in to ABC.
