  4. Walk the Wissahickon is THIS Sunday (9/24)! Hikers can choose to walk 5, 8, 13 or 21 miles of the beautiful Green Ribbon Trail. The hikes are guided and include lunch, a t-shirt, bussing back to the start and gear support. Registration & Fees ​Day-of registration opens at 7:15 a.m. ​Fee: $40.00 - cash, check, credit cards accepted $30 by Sept. 5 | $35 by Sept. 19 | $40 after Sept. 19 Registration Fee includes lunch, T-shirt and bus ride! Description Walk the Wissahickon offers people a chance to experience the beautiful Green Ribbon Trail, a 21-mile trail that follows the Wissahickon Creek from North Wales and eventually connects with Fairmount Park’s Forbidden Drive. Participants can choose the length and pace of their walk. All of the walks are guided and people are bussed back to the starting point. All hikes begin at Upper Gwynedd Township Park, 1 Parkside Place, North Wales, PA 19454 MAP The Challenge Hike: 13 or 21 Miles Hike all 21 miles of the Green Ribbon Trail from North Wales to the Schuylkill River OR hike 13 miles to the Morris Arboretum Bloomfield Farm. Recommended for fast-paced, hardy hikers over 15 years of age. We suggest hiking boots, extra socks and shoes – we’ll transport your gear. Registration/check-in: opens at 7:15 a.m Hike Times: 13 Mile: 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. 21 Mile: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The support team will transport your gear to the 8,13 and 21-mile stops Bus return available at the 8-mile, 13-mile and 21-mile stops A picnic lunch is provided at the 8-mile stop at WVWA's headquarters in Ambler Please label all of your bags clearly with your name and hike Upper Wissahickon Hike: 5 or 8 Miles Hike 5 miles to Lower Gwynedd’s Penllyn Woods OR hike 8 miles to WVWA’s headquarters in Ambler and enjoy a picnic lunch with fellow hikers. Registration/check-in: opens at 7:15 a.m. Hike Times: 5 Mile: 8:05 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. 8 Mile: 8:05 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Good things to know Enjoy a picnic lunch with fellow hikers at WVWA’s headquarters in Ambler provided by Fireside Bar & Grille of Ambler.
