Find out what people are buying from the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in Ambler

The Philadelphia Inquirer analyzed the data from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores across the state and created a database that allows readers to search the data by zip code.

Overall, the data shows that from July 2023 through June 2024, the stores’ sales totaled $2.53 billion and involved 156 million units. About 10% or 15.6 units were sold at stores in Montgomery County.

We searched the data to determine what the customers of the Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in downtown Ambler are buying.

The Ambler store sold 98,117 units of liquor, 136,898 of wine, and 24,115 of canned cocktails. The most popular brands are Federal Distilling (Stateside Vodka) at 11,994 units, Tito’s at 11,344, Josh Cellars at 6,712, Barefoot at 6,425, and High Noon at 5,797.

The tequila brand Codigo is popular in the Ambler area. Customers of the Ambler store spent more money on Codigo than the rest of the state on average.

Red or white? Ambler customers prefer red wine, purchasing 59,709 of white vs. 53,948 units of red wine. The most popular type of wine is Chardonnay, followed by Blanco/Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris, and Rosé.

The hard stuff! The most popular spirits at the Ambler store are vodka with 39,371 units sold, whiskey with 29,174, tequila with 11,051, rum with 7,012, and gin with 6,575.

The most popular liquor brands are Tito’s with 11,344 units sold, Jack Daniel’s with 2,921, Jameson with 2,658, Absolut with 2,519, and New Amsterdam with 2,271.

The most popular liqueur brands are Charmsujo with 871 units sold, Martini and Rossi with 855, Baileys with 736 sold, Montezuma with 721, and DeKuyper with 1,836.
