First Friday returns to Ambler

After a quick break in July, Ambler’s First Friday is returning to Butler Avenue on August 7! Local vendors, restaurants, and games will spill out onto the streets for the community to enjoy. Featured businesses include the Ambler Theater, Geronimo’s Peruvian Cuisine, Char Lobster Rolls, and much more. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m.

Local artists and small business vendors will line the streets from Ridge to Lindenwold avenues, while food trucks can be sampled along South Ridge Avenue. Ridge Hall food court will also be open with over 10 stalls to choose from. The open container ordinance has also been lifted, so visitors can enjoy a drink from the Ambler Rotary Club or any of the borough’s breweries.

August’s First Friday includes live entertainment from the band Flying Yogurt onstage front of Ambler Savings bank. Children’s entertainment is also available, with bounce castles, balloon animals from A to Z Magic and toys and bubbles from Rainbows and Unicorns open all night.

Roads will close beginning at 2:30 p.m. Visitors should prepare for slightly increased traffic and plan parking accordingly. For drivers, Ambler Main Street has posted a map of traffic flow on their Facebook and Instagram accounts. Click this link to view the map: Facebook.

Ambler Main Street is monitoring the weather for the possibility of evening rain. Roads will remain closed, according to Ambler Main Street. No rain date has been set, as many of the businesses have indoor locations or are under tents. If a cancellation is needed, Ambler Main Street will post updates via their social media accounts.

The last Ambler First Friday celebration will occur in September. To learn more about First Friday and other festivals, visit Ambler Main Street’s web page: First Fridays in Ambler.
