Flash Flood Watch for Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday Evening.

Showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop around midday tomorrow and continue through the afternoon and evening hours.

Periods of heavy rain can be expected with areas of 1 to 2 inches, with
local amounts up to 5 inches possible. These rainfall totals may
occur in a short amount of time, and could lead to flash flooding.

The risk of flash flooding is highest in urbanized and low-lying areas. Rapid rises on small creeks and streams are possible.

A Flash Flood Watch means that there is the potential for flash
flooding which can be life-threatening. Heavy rain is expected to
occur over a short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters
may quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams
and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.
