Flash Flood Watch in Effect Starting Monday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for our area starting Monday morning through late Monday night.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to bring periods of heavy rain with totals of 1 to 2 inches, with amounts up to 3 to 4 inches possible.

There is the potential for flooding along small streams and creeks, on roadways and in areas of poor drainage.

A Flash Flood Watch means that there is the potential for flash flooding which can be life-threatening. Heavy rain is expected to occur over a relatively short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters may quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.
