Former owner of Ristorante San Marco in Ambler indicted on 3 counts of wire fraud

Giuseppina “Josephine” Leone, 61, a North Wales resident and a former co-owner of Ristorante San Marco restaurant in Ambler, was indicted in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia on three counts of wire fraud, The Reporter said.

Leone is accused of falsifying documents for the federal Paycheck Protection Program and Restaurant Revitalization Fund, each of which provided emergency financial assistance to business owners during the pandemic.

According to The Reporter, Leone faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years in prison for each count and a total fine of $750,000.

She will also be required to forfeit all proceeds from the alleged fraud, which is at least $957,196.
