Free computer classes offered at Wissahickon Valley’s Ambler Branch Library

The Wissahickon Valley’s Ambler Branch Library will hold free beginner computer classes beginning May 7th, The classes were developed by library staff in response to patron needs that were observed at the library’s computer center. Students will be offered hands-on learning using a mobile computer lab in the library’s community room located at 209 Race Street in Ambler.

The class schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, May 7 – How Do I Turn This Thing On? 6 PM to 7:30 PM
Hands-on Introduction to Computers – mouse, keyboard, navigation, Windows

Tuesday, May 14 – How Do I Use This Thing?  Internet Browsing 6 PM to 7:30 PM
Learn about browsers, search engines and how to navigate the internet

Tuesday, May 21 – All about Email 6 PM to 7:30 PM
Set up an email account. Learn email basics such as how to send and reply to email mail, attach documents and images, and more.

Tuesday, May 28 – Be Safe! Cybersecurity Tips  6 PM to 7:30 PM
How to avoid scams and keep your data safe!
