On Friday, Aug. 5, at 6 pm, a celebration fundraiser is being held at the Daniel W. Dowling Legion Post 769 at 351 W. Maple Ave in Ambler for Kevin Smith, one of the victims of the double shooting that occurred earlier this week in Ambler.

The fundraiser will provide an opportunity for community members to stand united in the wake of the tragedy, according to Renee Sherman Steward, one of the event organizers.

 

The event will feature food, a live DJ and children’s activities and is open to all ages, according to Steward. There will be no admission cost but donations will be accepted, with funds going toward Smith’s funeral costs.

There have been no arrests yet made in this case.
