The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Montgomery County from Sunday, February 16th, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, February 17th, at 6:00 p.m.
The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety shared that “The strongest winds of 25-40 mph with gusts 50-60 mph will occur today [Sunday] between 4pm and 10pm, but high winds will persist overnight and throughout the day on Monday.”
The department also warns the public to expect power outages. The recent and current rain has made the soil wet and, when combined with the wind, could lead to “extensive” tree damage and power outages.
