The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Catholic Education recognized recognize sixty-two parish and regional elementary schools as 2023 Archdiocesan Schools of Distinguished Instruction. Several local schools were among those recognized.

Twenty-one schools in the archdiocese were recognized for Growth and Exceeding Potential. Recognition for Growth was determined by comparing the Normal Curve Equivalent or NCE score from this year’s testing to the NCE examinations taken by students in the previous academic year. These schools were found to have shown a full year’s growth in the total mastery of skills at every level tested using comparative NCE data.

Recognition for Exceeding Potential was determined by analyzing the data from the ability testing or InView and the achievement testing or Terra Nova in which schools were found to have 85% of the classes meeting or exceeding their potential in all content areas at every level tested with a growth rate between 76 and 90%.

Local schools recognized for Growth and Exceeding Potential were Good Shepherd Catholic School in Ardsley, Saint Genevieve School in Flourtown, Corpus Christi Catholic School in Lansdale, Saint Philip Neri Catholic School in Lafayette Hill, and Saint Luke Catholic School in Glenside.

Recognized for Growth were Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic School in North Wales, Mater Dei Catholic School in Lansdale, Our Lady of Mercy Regional Catholic School in Maple Glen, and Saint Helena School in Blue Bell.
