The local municipal governments in Ambler, Lower Gwynedd, Upper Dublin, and Whitpain held reorganization meetings in early January to swear in elected officials and elect the leadership for their elected bodies. The Wissahickon and Upper Dublin school districts reorganized in December.
Below is a recap for each municipality and the two school boards.
Ambler
Lou Orehek (Ward 1), Karen Sheedy (Ward 1), Lindsey Morrison-Daku (Ward 2), David Hui (Ward 3), Elizabeth Iovine (Ward 3), along with Mayor Jeanne Sorg, and Tax Collector Jennifer Stomsky, were sworn into office. Only Morrison-Daku is new to office. Iovine was elected president and Orehek vice-president. Orehek is the lone Republican.
Lower Gwynedd
Danielle Duckett and Andrea Brockway were sworn in as township supervisors, Natalie Cormier as tax collector, and Cathleen Pagano and Emily Vanneman as auditors. Duckett and Michael Twersky were re-elected to continue serving as chair and vice chair. All of the members of the board are Democrats.
Whitpain
Kimberly Klauder and Robert Brunner were sworn in as supervisors, along with Melissa Wanczyk as tax collector, and Melvin Williams Sr., and Angel Luis Lozada as auditors. Klauder is an incumbent who previously served under the name Kimberly Koch. Brunner is a new member of the board of supervisors. The board elected Scott Badami as chair, Klauder as vice chair, Joyce Keller as treasurer, Sara Selverian as assistant secretary, and Brunner as secretary. All of the members of the board are Democrats.
Upper Dublin
Meredith L. Ferleger (Ward 2), Ira S. Tackel (Ward 4), and Alyson J. Fritzges (Ward 6) were sworn in as commissioners. The members of the board elected Tackel as president and Ferleger as vice president.
Wissahickon School District
Amy Ginsburg, Gene Golson, Noel Kelly, Deanne Morris, and Dan Strauss were sworn in as directors of the school board. Ginsburg and Joe Antonio were elected the president and vice president of the board.
Upper Dublin School District
Jenna Evans, John Held, Wenday Bailey, and Kenya N. Love were sworn in as directors of the school board. Jeffrey Wallack was elected president, and Mark Sirota was elected vice president of the board.
