Lucky Well’s Chef Chad Rosenthal just got back from feeding the troops in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba last week. As part of Guy Fieri’s MESSLORDS and Navy Entertainment, Chad joined Panini Pete, Chef David Rose and other cooking show personalities and entertainers to donate their time, serve great BBQ and boost morale for the great men and women serving our country.

In between cooking and serving meals, Chad and crew were asked to be on-air guests at the Navy base’s radio station, “Radio Gitmo“( Radio Gitmo’s tagline is: “Rockin’ in Fidel’s Backyard”)! While there recording, Chad had a small world moment and met Navy sailor, Agent Pat Bauer ( Pat is the soldier pictured far right in the above photo), who coincidentally lives one mile from The Lucky Well in Ambler, and loves the place and their Old Fashions!

Chad was able to donate his time through the MESSLORDS, a program started by Chef Guy Pieri. MESSLORDS is best described as “a group of crazy chefs that love to entertain and cook for our US Troops all over the world.” Their purpose is to work with all facets of the U.S. military and their families, both domestically and abroad, to provide entertainment, education and boost morale through culinary related shows and demonstrations. MESSLORDS provides celebrity chefs and other culinary related personalities with a vehicle capable of presenting shows and demonstrations at select military bases & installations. The culinary experts of the MESSLORDS offer educational opportunities as well as healthy rivalries through demonstrations and cooking competitions.

Navy Entertainment provides live entertainment for sailors stationed overseas and on deployed ships at sea. They deliver quality celebrity shows to navy locations and ships at sea wherever they may be and these tours make a positive impact on the morale of our troops.
