Man sentenced to prison for attempting to steal $22K in Apple products from a FedEx in Montgomery Township

Chamar Gary Lee, 44, of Brooklyn, was sentenced to 3 to 23 months in prison for fraudulently intercepting packages containing electronic equipment from a FedEx distribution center along Welsh Road in Montgomery Township on July 11, 2024, Mainline Media News reported.

Lee pleaded guilty to charges of attempted theft by deception, forgery and possessing an instrument of crime.

According to the story, Lee provided police with a fraudulent driver’s license identification from South Carolina and claimed to be employed by the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, a vocational technical school which had ordered the equipment.

FedEx security officials said that Lee requested that seven packages be held at the facility so they could be picked up in person. The packages contained Apple electronics items valued at $22,715.
