Montco Sheriff Partners with Community College Foundation for Employee Scholarship Fund

Employees of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and their families will now be able to get help to pay for classes toward degree programs at the Montgomery County Community College. Montgomery County Sheriff Sean P. Kilkenny and MCCC President Kevin Pollock introduced the partnership between the Montgomery County Sheiff’s Office and the College yesterday via the Sheriff’s Office Scholarship Fund.

“Our large staff is highly trained and hardworking,” said Montgomery County Sheriff and MCCC Trustee Sean P. Kilkenny. “But, I wanted to help them with furthering their education, with the hopes that they
would be able to move closer to reaching their highest professional level.”

Proceeds from an annual golf outing and other fundraisers will fund the scholarship program.  The golf fundraiser will be held on August 21, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Blue Bell Country Club, 1800 Tournament Drive, Blue Bell, PA 19422. There are several sponsorship levels available, in addition to lunch and dinner only options.

“Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year,” said Kilkenny. “That amount would cover almost all of the costs of tuition and fees for a two-year degree program for one of our employees.
