During an August 26th press conference, Montgomery County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh was asked by KYW’s Jim Jim Melwert a few questions regarding what will happen when there is a positive case of Coronavirus in a school.
The county’s exclusion guidance referenced by Dr. Arkoosh in the video can be found here. It is a chart that tells you when a child can return to school if he or she has symptoms and/or a positive test result.
Dr. Arkoosh also goes through what one positive case in a school means vs. two or more, who in the class would be considered exposed and have to quarantine, and when a school would need to be closed.
Most public schools in the county are reopening with a virtual model, including those within the Wissahickon and Upper Dublin school districts, however, some public and most private schools are reopening.
