Sandy Martin, the actress who plays Napoleon Dynamite’s Grandma, and Mac’s Mom on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is a Spring House native.

At the young age of 15, in the 1960’s, Sandy began her illustrious acting career right around the corner doing summer stock performances at the LaSalle College Musical Theater while also attending Wissahickon High School.  After touring the country with several productions, she settled in New York City, working in many popular theaters and acting in over 70 stage productions.

Since 1977, Sandy has played many memorable roles in hit shows like:  Big Love (playing Selma Green), CSI, Nip Tuck, Shameless, Saving Grace, Weeds, Cold Case, 2 Broke Girls, Parenthood, The Closer, Rizzoli & Isles just to name a few.

However, Sandy Martin is best known for her roles as Grandma in Napoleon Dynamite and as Mrs. Mack on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
