The Bookshop on Main, located at 5 North Main Street in Ambler, had its grand opening on Saturday, June 20th. The shop is right off the corner of Butler Avenue, where there is plenty of foot traffic (especially when you open the day of the Arts & Music Fest).

The owners, Brain and Lindsay, wanted to make the move to open a store pursuant to their passions. The pair noticed that Ambler had no local bookstore, and that settled it: Ambler was the spot.

To support the start of this endeavor, they offered a Founding Membership that included your name added to a book spine on the in-store mural behind the checkout counter, along with a tote bag.

They also offer “blind-date” packages, consisting of a wrapped book with limited information as to what it may be: genre, number of pages, and additional adjectives as clues. In another room, they offer a gallery space for artists to exhibit their art.

One goal for the near future is to offer local authors the opportunity to promote their work through readings and book signings. A book club meeting at the shop is also on the agenda.
