The Wissahickon School District opened its new playground at Lower Gwyned Elementary School on October 1st. According to the district, the playground was “designed with thoughtful, inclusive features that reflect the District’s commitment to accessibility and provide students of all abilities with a safe, welcoming, and engaging place to play, connect, and build friendships.”
The playground was funded through a $125,000 state grant, along with fundraising done by the Lower Gwynedd Home & School Association. The home and school association’s funding was directed to an additional playground feature that was voted on by the students.
