New Scholarship Opportunities for Female Students at Montgomery County Community College Thanks to The Colony Club of Ambler

Recognizing the vital role Montgomery County Community College serves in transforming lives, the members of The Colony Club of Ambler recently made a generous gift of $25,000 to MCCC in support of student scholarships.

“We are inspired by Montgomery County Community College students who work so hard to improve their lives through higher education,” said Club President Lucille Kelly. “Our members appreciate that MCCC is here in Montgomery County to help residents and their families reach their education goals and get ahead.”

Established in March 2018, The Colony Club of Ambler Endowed Scholarship is available to female students who reside in Ambler, Upper Dublin or Lower Gwynedd for the 2018-19 academic year. If eligible, you can apply by visiting their website here.

More than 100 years old, The Colony Club of Ambler is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the community by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services.

The Colony Club of Ambler is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC). These clubs and members are the fabric that binds not only the Federation but also the communities in which they live and work. By Living the Volunteer Spirit, GFWC clubwomen transform lives each day, not simply with monetary donations, but with hands-on tangible projects that provide immediate impact. With a grassroots approach that often thinks locally but impacts globally, GFWC, its clubs and members remain committed to serving as a force for global good, as it has done since its formation 128 years ago.

Established in 1983, the MCCC Foundation provides scholarships for deserving students; grants for faculty projects, equipment and technology; emergency funds for students; support for cultural enrichment activities on campus; and financial resources for other college programs and activities. More than $500,000 was awarded to over 300 students in 2017-2018. For additional information or to discuss how to make a gift, contact the Foundation at 215-641-6530 or giving@mc3.edu.
