The monthly report from the Ambler Police Department that was included with the agenda for the April 21st borough council meeting noted that 75 parking tickets were issued on March 28th. Ambler was busier than normal that day due to a No Kings protest.
From the police report:
Saturday March 28, starting around 12p.m. a large influx of protesters arrived on E. Butler Avenue. An additional officer was detailed to assist with pedestrian traffic and vehicle traffic. We received numerous parking complaints that resulted in 75 parking tickets being issued. Business owners complained to officers that the sidewalks were overcrowded preventing customers from entering their establishment. No arrests were made.
AroundAmbler.com asked Police Chief Jeff Borkowski if this was an unusually high number of tickets to be issued on one day in Ambler, including event days such as First Friday and the art and music festival. Chief Borkowski shared that while the music fest does have more tickets than an average day, the amount issued on the day of the protest was an unusually high amount.
