No surprises in the primary election in Ambler

With no Republicans actually running for office in Ambler, the Tuesday, May 19th primary was really just a coronation of candidates on the Democratic Party side.

In the Democratic Party primary, there was only one competitive primary, meaning there was more than one candidate running for the same office. The competitive race was for a two-year term for a seat on Ambler’s Borough Council representing Ward 1. In that race, Amy Hughes won the primary over Madge Monser by a vote of 181 to 125.

With no candidates appearing on the ballot in the Republican primary, voters will wait to see if any of the write-in names qualify for the ballot in the general election scheduled for November 2nd.
