PECO working on multiple electric infrastructure projects in Upper Dublin | PennDOT to begin repairing/resurfacing segment of Route 309 on Aug. 12

PECO has announced three improvement projects to enhance local electric infrastructure in Upper Dublin Township.

One project is taking place along Bell Lane, Terrace Drive, and Morse Drive and is expected to be completed in late September, according to a press release.

A second project, already underway, is taking place along Executive Drive, Benjamin Drive, Morgan Drive, Clinton Drive, Wooded Lane, and Clover Lane, and is expected to be completed by late October.

A third project will take place along Camp Hill Road, Cinnamon Drive, Elbow Lane, Virginia Drive, Highland Avenue, Pinetown Road, New Jersey Drive, Hartranft Avenue, Stevens Drive, Wallace Drive, Haddon Place,
Thomas Drive, Victor Lane, Nash Drive, and Kenyon Drive.

Tree work will begin in August with construction beginning in September. The project is expected to be completed by the end of December.

“This work will help to improve reliability – reducing the frequency of outages and minimizing the duration of outages that do occur and will increase the ability for customers to install clean energy resources, like solar generation,” the release said.

Crews may need to temporarily interrupt service to safely complete some of the work, officials said.

In related news, PennDOT announced that crews will repair and resurface a section of Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) in Upper Dublin, Whitemarsh, and Springfield townships beginning Monday, August 12.

A contractor will resurface 10 miles of Route 309 and associated ramps using material which will seal the roadway and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface, PennDOT said.

Periodic nighttime lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 309 between the Susquehanna Road and the Springfield interchanges for milling and paving from August 12 through mid-October from 9:00pm to 5:00am the following morning.

The other locations scheduled for resurfacing under this project are:

  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Route 73 (Church Road) Interchange.
  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange.
  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Highland Avenue Interchange.
  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) collector road between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Highland Avenue interchanges.
