Penna’s Italian Market (545 North Bethlehem Pike, Spring House) was named one of the “25 Essential Hoagie Shops” in the Philadelphia region in the February 2023 issue of Philadelphia Magazine. It was the only hoagie shop in Montgomery County to make the list.

The article is behind a paywall, so you will have to spend a few bucks to learn about all the hoagies. In praising Penna’s Italian Market, the article states:

This gleaming cathedral of Italian American delicacies opened in 2021 with a long lineup of hoagies built on rolls from Norristown’s century-old Corropolese Bakery. For the Old Fashioned hoagie, prosciutto imported from Parma and sweet soppressata hug an oregano-flecked flurry of house-roasted peppers, lettuce and tomatoes. The fact that you’re buying it surrounded by pristine deli cases and a tasteful wood-fueled fireplace doesn’t diminish the fact that this is one of the best sandwiches in the region.

Enjoy Penna’s Hoagies & More for the Big Game

If you want to enjoy one of Penna’s hoagies or need to feed the entire team for the big game this Sunday, you need to move fast. Popular items in addition to hoagies are stromboli, Buffalo chicken dip, hoagie dip, hot roast beef, hot roast pork, sausage and peppers, salads, sides, and more. The menu can be found here. Deadline for Orders

Penna’s is stressing that it is at the mercy of its bakeries for ordering rolls for its’ hoagies/sandwiches and tomato pies. To guarantee your order for the big game, all catering, hoagie, and roll/bakery orders must be in by Friday, February 10th at 6:00 p.m. Orders that come in after this time or on game day, can not be guaranteed due to the bread and roll supply. Penna’s will have items throughout the weekend in the market on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
