Pennsylvania Avenue Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for Traffic Signal Installations

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that single lane closures are scheduled on Pennsylvania Avenue between Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) and Bethlehem Pike in Upper Dublin and Whitemarsh townships, Montgomery County, on Monday, September 10th through Friday, September 14th  from 9am to 3pm for traffic signal installations. the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area because slowdowns will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

Work under this improvement project is part of PennDOT’s ‘Green Light-Go’ initiative, Pennsylvania’s Municipal Signal Partnership Program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals located in Pennsylvania.

The scope of work on this project includes the installation of fiber optic cables, and upgrading traffic signals at varying intersections.

Wampole – Miller of Conshohocken, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $1,558,716 improvement project which is financed with 50 percent state and 50 percent local funds. Construction on this improvement project is expected to be completed in summer 2019.
