Pet of the Week | Rex

The Pet of the Week is a one year old black Lab named Rex. Read a few remarkable things about Rex below, as told by his owner Heather:

I am writing to nominate our 1 year old black lab, Rex. There are three remarkable things about this huge guy:
1. He is a rescue from NC (his mom had bullets in her while she carried the puppies) and he was born in Blue Bell Country Club with 9 healthy brothers and sisters!
2. We didn’t know this at the time of his adoption, but he was born December 10, the exact day our previous dog (Sparky, Golden Retriever, age 13) fell asleep at the bottom of our stairs and never woke up.  We feel it was meant to be!
3. Rex ate a bottle of Advil two weeks ago and survived.  Most people don’t realize this, but Advil is extremely toxic to dogs. The bottle rattled like a toy and it tastes like candy, which is why Rex liked it so much!  Thanks to Steinbach’s for the supportive care during our medical scare!
In short, we love our dog very much and we feel that he’s a perfectly unique pet!
