Pet Of The Week | Axel

The Pet of the Week is a rescue dog named Axel.  Axel’s owner, Mark, told us
his story:

Axel, who just turned 4 in December, is a rescue from MAJR  (Mid-Atlantic Jack Rescue). Axel is originally from Kentucky where he was abandoned, sheltered then later rescued by MAJR and brought up to PA.

Here he then went to a family home who was unable to show him the love and care he deserved and was returned with high-anxiety issues. In Fall of 2015, I was looking for a buddy of my own after just moving into Ambler. I saw a post on Pet-Finder and contacted the rescue. Normally when he met potential best buds Axel would get nervous and spin or nip; yet when he met my dad and I he was caring and playful and I wasn’t leaving without him. Since then we’ve gone all over from the beach to the mountains hiking, taking pictures along the way. We work on his anxiety every day which with a lot of love and patience from our family has helped him calm down and be the great boy we knew he was!
Here are a few shots of him hanging out in bed,  his presidential pose and only on his birthday, we let him sit at the table and have a small treat while we sing him happy birthday.

Pet of the Week is sponsored by Canine Country, which is a 10,000 square foot climate controlled facility (at a comfortable 70 degrees) offering dog boardingdog groomingdog day care and dog training.
