Property tax and rent rebates through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin to be issued on Tuesday, July 1, state officials announced.
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program (PTRR) supports Pennsylvanian homeowners and renters through rebates ranging from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities.
The initial distribution will include approximately 425,000 rebates totaling $258 million.
“During his first year in office, Governor Shapiro signed into law a historic expansion of the PTRR program, making good on the commitment he made to Pennsylvania seniors and people with disabilities to ease the burden of rising costs,” Pennsylvania’s website says. “Based on the latest data from the past two years, this has already opened the door for approximately 150,000 first-time filers of the PTRR program to receive a rebate for the very first time.”
The program is supported by funds from the Pennsylvania Lottery and gaming. More information about PTTR can be found here.
