Registration open for summer art classes at Art Center at Ambler

Registration is open for summer art classes at the Art Center at Ambler. Summer classes start in late May or in June and run from four to six weeks, plus an open studio on Fridays. There is something for every age and skill level. Registration is available online.

The Art Center at Ambler strives to uphold its organizational mission by providing professional, inclusive access to art resources, education, and community to intergenerational audiences throughout Montgomery County.

35mm Camera and Cellphone Photography

Mons. June 5 – July 31 from 2:30PM-3PM Cost: $140 member, $155 non-member

This combined class will explain the settings of the 35mm digital camera and how to get proper exposures for better control of your photography, and how to use settings in your cell phone camera. We will discuss the different styles of photography and well-known photographers…

Relaxing Drawing w/ Violet Sterling

This class is designed to increase your creative spirit and decrease your stress! Join Violet in a slow-paced gentle drawing class. Learn how to use drawing materials and techniques while focusing on abstracting or capturing still life. (Think Demi Moore in the movie, “Ghost.”) In this class, you’ll learn about different clay bodies, how to center your clay on the wheel and make bowls and cylinders. Mosaics for Everyone!

Thurs. June 1 – July 6 from 9:30AM-12PM
Cost: $185 Member, $200 Non-Member

Treat yourself! This might be the new experience you’ve been looking for! Ann can help you learn to make amazing things! You’ll come away with both a heartfelt creative experience and a beautiful piece of mosaic art. You’ll learn new skills to last a lifetime! Come and learn how to make and glaze ceramic tiles for your very own mounted and grouted mosaic piece. Make a trivet, a wall hanging, an address plaque or a small tabletop. Ann will be bringing templates for you to choose from. All basic materials are included.

Friday Open Painting Studio

Our “Open Studio” Friday is for ACAA member artists who paint or draw (not for ceramics), and work well independently. This opportunity is included in your yearly membership!
