The Montgomery Township Police Department advised the public that on the evening of June 26th, a black bear was reported in the area of the 300 block of North Wales Road in the township. Police notified the Pennsylvania Game Commission, which will check the area and monitor for any further sightings.

The bear was last seen running into the wooded area between North Wales Road and 1200 Welsh Road (Montgomery Commons Shopping Center).

Police advise that if you spot the bear, remain calm and back away slowly. Do not run, do not approach, and do not feed the bear. Keep your distance and make noise if it approaches.
