Spanish immersion preschool opening in Spring House

Mi Casita, the Philadelphia area’s first Spanish immersion preschool, announced on August 11th that it will be opening a location at 909 Sumneytown Pike in Spring House in November of 2022. This will be the preschool’s third location in Pennsylvania. The school will be open year-round and is offering enrollment to children ages three months to five years.

Mi Casita, which means “my little house,” is one of the only preschools in the country to implement project-based learning. This education style focuses on engaging students through real-world problem solving, with the goal of developing critical thinking and communication skills. Project-based learning, combined with complete Spanish immersion, creates a truly unique and enriching learning experience at Mi Casita.

Mi Casta was founded by Melissa Page Peter, a former Philadelphia public school teacher who grew up in Texas and began speaking Spanish at the age of three.

“I’m excited to grow our Mi Casita familia and bring the first Spanish immersion preschool to the area,” said Peter. “At Mi Casita, we are proud to serve a diverse community of families. What most parents don’t realize is that they don’t have to speak another language for their children to experience the full benefits of a Spanish immersion education!”
