Tonight’s Ambler Borough Council Meeting is still on despite the weather. Some of the things being discussed are:

• The Borough is considering changing the status of the water department and form an authority.  Currently Ambler Borough is under a PUC regulated tariff. To become an authority, the Borough must file a petition to Abandon the PUC Tarriff. The solicitor will prepare a memo outlining the benefits and concerns.
• The Parks and Rec Committee is exploring the possibility of starting a new program, Friends of Borough Parks.
• The vacant Highway and Water positions were advertised. Resumes are being reviewed and interviews will be scheduled.
• Authorization is requested to adopt resolution 2018-5 to suspend the Open Container Ordinance for the following events: June 15-16 Arts and Music Festival-August 18-Ambler Criterium Bike Race-October 6-Octoberfest
