Top restaurant news for the Ambler area from 2025

What happened in Ambler’s dining scene in 2025? We broke it down for you. Here were the biggest stories (in no particular order).

A Bunch of New Options

Ridge Hall, a food hall featuring 10 restaurants and an adjacent brewery, opened at 15 South Ridge Avenue in Ambler.

Opening first was the brewery Twisted Gingers, which debuted in September. Since then, openings have included 2 Street Sammies (Philly-style sandwiches), Lucky’s Roadside Stand (dogs, burgers, and tots), Pho Mi Please (pho), Pennsylvania General Store (favorite PA goods), Wanna Spoon (ice cream/desserts), Mary’s Chicken Strip Club (chicken sandwiches and strips), Top Dog Cocktails (cocktail tasting room), Char – A Lobster Rolls & More Experience (lobster rolls/seafood), and The Pierogie Kitchen (pierogies). A coffee business, Herman’s, has not yet opened.

Accolades

In 2024, La Baja opened in Ambler and has since been widely recognized for its Mexican dishes. Philadelphia magazine named it the Best New Restaurant in the Burbs for 2025 and received glowing reviews.

Surrounded by Wonder

Wonder, a primarily delivery-focused food hall seeking to open 90 locations in the Northeast in 2025, opened two locations on either side of Ambler. The first opened in October in Blue Bell, with Dresher opening in November.

New Restaurants at Blue Bell Square Shopping Center

Over the past couple of years, the Blue Bell Square shopping center has undergone a refresh, including both its facade and several of the businesses that call it home. Manhattan Bagel’s opened early in the year, and Angelina’s, an Italian restaurant, is preparing to open.

Beer

While a downturn in the craft beer business was big news regionally and nationally in 2025, that didn’t stop its growth in the Ambler area. Two new breweries opened. As we mentioned above, Twisted Gringers opened at Ridge Hall in Ambler in September. That was followed by Wissahickon Brewing opening a location in Maple Glen in November.

The downturn also didn’t stop Ambler’s original (modern-day) brewery, Forest & Main, from adding a location in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
