Two recent residential burglaries in Lower Gwynedd. Police offer tips on securing homes

Earlier this week the Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department warned the public that two homes in the township were recently burglarized during the evening when the residents left their homes to go out for dinner.

In the warning, the police department provided tips on how to best secure a home when going out for the night or a vacation.

  • Lock all doors and windows as a matter of habit (cars included).
  • Place random lights or televisions on timers.
  • Do not leave newspapers, mail, or delivery packages outside or visible to anyone snooping around.
  • Keep landscaping manicured if you’re away on vacation.
  • If you have a security system, use it!

The department also advises residents to keep an eye out for neighbors and to report anything suspicious. You can report suspicious activity to the Lower Gwynedd Police Department by calling (215) 646-5300 or 911.
