Ambler’s Chief of Police Jeff Borkowski released the following statement at 11:00 p.m. about the police activity due to a barricade situation in the borough.

The Ambler Borough Police Department would like to advise the public of police activity in the area of North Street and Lindenwold Avenue. There is no danger to the public at this time but would like the public to stay out of the area. The Officers will be clearing the area shortly.

6ABC Action News has video from the helicopter that shows the SWAT team kicking in the door to the home.

FOX29’s Steve Keeley is reporting that the barricade situation in Ambler was tied to an “armored vehicle heist & assault” that occurred in Philadelphia just after 1:00 p.m. According to Keeley, suspects in the armored car heist were tied to a home on North Street in Ambler.
