The Upper Dublin High School baseball team brought him its first-ever PIAA State Championship after defeating Shaler Area High School 8-2 on Thursday, June 12, SurburbanOneSports.com reported.
“What this means to the program is that we continue to raise the bar. Getting into district playoffs was a big ambition for us back in the day and then getting into states after 2012 was a job. We got in in ’22, and we hit our ceiling in the quarterfinals,” head coach Ed Wall said. “These guys are the epitome of sticking together, playing for each other, and never letting a teammate down. This was an ambition, a goal, whatever you want to call it. It was something they’ve been looking forward to doing for the last four years.”
The victory follows a 1-0 win over Elizabethtown earlier this week to reach the PIAA-5A state championship game for the first time in program history.
The Cardinals also claimed the Suburban One League Conference Championship this year.
