Disaster Emergency Declared
Important Updates and Information

Due to the storm damages and the potential of endangerment to the health and safety of Township residents, the Township has declared a Disaster Emergency. Please read below for important information for residents:

  • Please stay home and off of the roads. Local roads are not deemed safe. The safest for you is to shelter in place.
  • Local grocery stores are open (George’s Market, Acme Sprouts, and Giant). If you have lost power and/or need supplies, these stores are available to you. Currently, we are aware that Giant in Maple Glen is without refrigerators.
  • Jarrettown Elementary school is open and available to residents for temporary refuge.
  • Contact your insurance agencies to file claims for any and all property damage. The Township cannot clear properties of debris.
  • Trash and recycling collections are canceled for today. They will be rescheduled (more information to follow).
  • 309 and the Fort Washington Interchange are both closed.
  • The Leaf Site (1128 Camphill Road) will be open during normal hours AND on Saturday and Monday. Residents are welcome to drop off debris. NO LANDSCAPER WASTE WILL BE COLLECTED.

Note: Please verify any cleanup or contractor companies who offer services to you before signing any contracts or paying any fees.

Thank you for your cooperation. Further updates will be sent via email and social media as they are available.
